Rogue fishing and the flys
November 25th, 2008 by DavidWell the Steelhead are starting to show, and we are hitting more every trip out. No not in great numbers, but when you do hook up its great. The river is dropping (75cfs a day until they get down to inflow outflow) with the drop they always seam to drop water temp also, so we will be having to go down and dirty. Until then though we have been getting a lot of fish, and my fishing/guide partner have been targeting trout with hopper/dropper, but have been experimenting with diff. leader rigs and hoping to work them into steelhead rigs and cut down on indicators. As we where fishing this rig last week I did hook up with a nice steelie, but once doesn’t mean I am going to write a book on the best way to catch big fish on flys. (maybe after Jim and I get off the river today I will start the book)
